What is Epsom Salt?

Epsom Salt is made of two components – Magnesium and Sulfate.

Our bodies need Magnesium for more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body, therefore, making Magnesium essential to maintain good health. Magnesium relaxes our muscles, and creates Serotonin in our bodies. Serotonin is a mood-elevating chemical within the brain, which helps our bodies feel calm and relaxed.

Low magnesium is typically due to decreased absorption of magnesium in the gut. Alternatively it could be an increased excretion of magnesium in the urine. Deficiency in magnesium may cause fatigue, muscle cramps, mental problems, irregular heartbeat and osteoporosis.

How can Epsom Salt help the body?

Stress drains the body of Magnesium. Epsom Salt is full of Magnesium, and therefore considered a natural stress reliever. When dissolved in warm water, our skin absorbs the Magnesium Sulfate in Epsom Salt. As a result, it replenishes the levels of Magnesium needed in the body. The salt also draws toxins from the body, sedates the nervous system, reduces swelling, and consequently, relaxes muscles.
